EAEU Pharmacopoeia

The College of the Eurasian Economic Commission approved the EAEU pharmacopoeia, which will become the single for quality assessment for medicinal products in the five Union countries. The EAEU pharmacopoeia became the second regional pharmacopoeia in the world. The document to come into force on March 1, 2021. 

Producers of medicinal products previously registered on the EAEU common market have until 1 January 2026 to bring their regulatory documents into compliance with the new pharmacopoeia.

The first part of the first volume of the approved pharmacopoeia comprises 157 harmonized general pharmacopoeia articles (monographs) containing general information on the application of pharmacopoeia analysis and its methods, methods of biological and microbiological test, reagents, instruments and apparatus to analyze the quality as already on the market and new medicines that are still being developed. The plan is to fill the document with new general and special articles and prepare the publication of the following volumes.
